Barak Rubin

Co-founder and head curator of Idris, he holds degrees in both BFA in Photography and MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. His expertise lies in Islamic art history, alongside a deep understanding of contemporary Israeli and Palestinian art. His research delves into the intricate intersections of myth, history, and religion. Beyond curating exhibitions domestically and internationally, he serves as the exhibition maker and associate curator at the Bezalel Gallery of Contemporary Art.

Livia Tagliacozzo

Co-founder and director of Idris. She was born and raised in Rome, Italy, she is a PhD candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University Multidisciplinary Program in the Humanities and completed her MA degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. Her doctoral research focuses on fascism and the relations between different religious communities in the Middle East and North Africa. She has curated exhibitions in Israel and abroad, and authored articles on a variety of topics which were published in artist catalogs, academic press and newspapers.
